Hey guys its that time once again for another Black Chivalrous Nerd Video Game review and this time the video game is one that true gamers were waiting for. This game is what I would consider one of the Staples and poster franchises when it comes to thinking about the history of Capcom Games. This game features the return of a familiar fan favorite before he became the protagonist we all know, love and try to cosplay as. The game I'm talking about is the reboot of Capcom's Dmc: Devil May Cry.
In this reboot of the series, Dante knows that he is not human, but also that he is not like the demons that have tormented him throughout his life. Caught between worlds, he feels like an outcast. He is now discovering and coming to terms with what it means to be the child of a demon and an angel. This split personality has a real impact on gameplay with Dante being able to call upon angel and demon abilities at will, transforming his Rebellion sword on the fly to dramatically affect both combat and movement.
While most of the Internet or the "Douchebag Gamers" were upset and pissed and moaned and complained about how Capcom decided to shorten Dante's hair and make him look all Emo, I on the other hand like the change that Capcom chose to do. My reason is because this is suppose to be the Prequel to the series and we don't know what Dante looked like before the original DMC and maybe just MAYBE, Capcom wanted to give Dante a different look.
"*Gasp* why would Capcom do this? I like Dante the way the he original is. Why would they try something different?" Interesting question Douchebag Gamer who will complain and cry about the game but will decide to play it and here's my answer. It's Capcom's choice and right to change Dante if they damn well please so if they wanted Dante to have three Mohawks, then dammit let Capcom do it. If you don't like the way that Capcom run things then don't purchase and play the damn game and stick to ya damn Madden and Call Of Duty and keep telling yourself you're a "hardcore gamer" (Insert side eye here).
But anyway back to the game, I really like how Capcom teamed up with Ninja Theory, the people behind Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and Heavenly Sword, as well as working with the world famous Unreal Engine for a spectacular, awesome, beautiful, visually stunning video game. The soundtrack is awesome and definitely gets you in the mood to kill all the demons as you fight your way through limbo and the real world in order to get to Mundus, the man that killed Dante's father and mother. The gameplay is also brand new and I like that because honestly I like the free use of the camera instead of the stiff camera that the original DMC games offered us and the controlling of Dante is more fluid like as oppose to the old controlling system.
As you play the game you will face puzzles and obstacles that require you to use either your demon or angel abilities to progress throughout the levels. Like for example in one level, in order to progress you need to switch between pulling objects closer to you using your demon weapon Arbiter and flying into things using your angel weapon Osiris which is a very reliable Grappling Hook. Which leads me into my topic which is the toys that you get to play with in the game.
The first two weapons you get is the staple weapons Rebellion which is Dante's signature Sword and his trusty twin Pistols Ebony and Ivory in which on pistol is black and the other is white (I know shocker right?). The next two weapons you get is the demon weapon Arbiter which is in the form of a battle Axe and the other weapon is the angel weapon Osiris which is a scythe. After that you obtain the demon weapon Eryx which is a powerful set of gauntlets that are capable of dealing massive damage to a single target and each attack can be charged for greater effect. Then the angel weapon Aquila which are a pair of shuriken like projectiles, emitting waves of energy when thrown at enemies.
Onto the range weapons, now of course I already explained about Ebony and Ivory but then there are two other range weapons just as well. The second ranged weapons is Revenant which is a powerful shotgun, useful for clearing crowds of enemies, and dealing high damage at close range. The third one is, I love the name of this weapon, Kablooey which is a firearm that fires explosive needles. These needles stick into enemies, and must be manually detonated. Multiple shots can be fired before detonating. The more shots, the more damage.
I personally like using Eryx and Aquila as my demon weapons and as my ranged weapons I switch between the twin pistols and the shotgun Revenant.
The combo system in this game awesome and the style points is How many points are earned from combat during the mission. The more stylish your fighting, the higher the points. Style Points are given a rank just like the overall Style Rank. There are seven ranks in total:
SSSensational
SSadistic
Savage
Anarchic
Brutal
Cruel
Dirty
The letter(s) will gradually fill up during battle. Each letter is a multiplier to the Style Points earned in combos. D = 2x, C = 3x, and so on to 8x.
Fight in various ways to fill up the meter inside the letter until it reaches the next level. Using abilities and various weapon combos will easily increase the style rating. Using the same combo within a short time will lessen the value. Try killing enemies without taking damage, parrying, evading, using different combos, using aerial combos, getting environmental kills, and more.
If Dante is hit during battle, the rank will get knocked down two letters.
The style rank is what you get after every level and determines what your grade is and depends on five certain areas like style points, time, completion, items (where if you used items it deduces your overall score) and deaths. Those five things determine your overall grade for each level that you complete.
I give DMC: Devil May Cry a buy it rating... If you don't want to buy it at the $60 price then you can get it at a lower price but I highly recommend you to get this game if you can. The game is also rated M for Mature because of Blood, gore, alcohol usage, sexual references and of course... LANGUAGE!!!!!
Alright guys that's all the time for this post... Don't for get to share the posts, like it, +1, and comment. Also follow me on twitter and Hmu on google+. Until next time, Love Peace and Bacon Grease *Smoke Bombs Out*
I have no goal I'm just voicing my opinion on Video Games, Anime, Mangas, Comics and Movies but if i had to have a goal it would be to bring awareness on what's hot, what's not and what's just MEH!!!!!!!

Throwback Nerd Out: Mega Man X Collection
Today marks the beginning of a new segment called the "Retro Nerd Moment of the week" and the topic of discussion is Mega Man X Collection. I for one am excited that I found this and I found it for the Playstation 2 on amazon.com for 22 bucks. The game features the first six mega man x games before they went to the ps2 with it and all I can say is as I play the first six X games I feel like a little kid again with the look of the game, the soundtrack and the noise that would happen when you would hold down the fire button to power up your arm cannon. Here's the back story about the X series courtesy of Wikipedia.
Mega Man X, commonly known as "X", was created by Dr. Thomas Light an unknown number of years after the Mega Man series.
Unlike the original Mega Man, X was a new type of robot with the ability to make his own decisions. After completing X, Light realized that there was a possibility X might choose to turn against humankind. He also feared that even if X chose a beneficent path in life with regard to human welfare, people would inexorably be unable to accept him, and that X would be viewed as a technological anomaly at best and an abomination at worst. Both would result in X's rejection as the cogent thinking machine Light originally intended him to be. Fearing that his life's work would be destroyed by fearful human beings, Light sealed X away in a diagnostic capsule for over 30 years of testing to make sure he would not choose an evil path in life.
Though what happened to him during these years is not specifically mentioned, it is assumed that Dr. Light died and left his diagnostic experiments unfinished. X's capsule was eventually uncovered by an archaeologist named Dr. Cain almost 100 years after X's creation. With X's help, Cain created a legion of new robots that replicated X's free will; these robots were called "Reploids" (Repliroids in Japan). For a time, everything seemed calm and peaceful.
However, a virus that caused Reploids to turn against humans (later discovered to be originated by Dr. Wily implanted in Zero and transferred to Sigma) began to spread. This was because X's circuitry was duplicated imperfectly. These Reploids were dubbed "Mavericks" (Irregulars in Japan), and a force called the Maverick Hunters (Irregular Hunters) was formed to combat them. The Maverick Hunters were originally led by Sigma until he, too, became a Maverick. Because of his betrayal and eventual declaration of war against the humans, X took it upon himself to join the Maverick Hunters and current leader Zero, another powerful robot (created by the evil Dr. Wily), on a mission to save Earth from Sigma. Throughout the series, X and Zero fight against Sigma and his Maverick followers to stop their many diabolical plots to destroy the human race.
The Reason why for the creation of the Mega Man X Series is because Capcom wanted to create a newer, edgier cooler image for Mega Man and when they came out with Mega Man X for the SNES, they blew it out of the water.
Mega Man X plays similarly to its predecessor series Mega Man,
but with various new features: X has the ability to dash along the
ground at any time, cling to walls and Wall Jump, and dash and jump at
the same time, increasing his speed in the air. This all gives X more
mobility than his Classic counterpart; these modifications make it
easier to go through the majority of the game without using any other
gun than the default, which is different from previous Mega Man
games where players were more inclined to rely on weapons won in
previous fights (Like Metal Man's infamous Metal Blades) against boss
characters in previously conquered stages.
X is also able to locate capsules that permanently upgrade a part of his armor, such as his helmet, boots, chestplate, or arm cannon. An upgrade common to each game is the ability for X to charge weapons earned from bosses, which gives them an enhanced secondary fire mode. In later games, there are multiple armor types available that can either be mixed and matched, or completed for additional armor set bonuses.
In X3, Zero (the leader of the Maverick Hunters in the first Mega Man X) is a playable character from the beginning. In the second game, Zero is armed with a beam saber in addition to the traditional "buster" gun, but relies on his saber almost exclusively starting in X4. In X5, both X and Zero gained the ability to duck; an ability previously unavailable. In X6, there is a new rescue system where the player must rescue reploids.
All in all i love this series and Shout out to The 8 Bit Animal for letting me know about this collection disc and the fact that i put it down so i could post this blog post is definitely killin me so I'm going to Teleport (Mega Man X Style) back to HQ and continue to play this childhood favorite of mine. I believe that the Mega Man X series is one of the greatest Series of All Time and the fact that Capcom are acting like a bunch of Scared Little Bitches and don't want to Release a new Mega Man X Game is fucking bullshit but we're not going to go there with Capcom.

Asura's Wrath Review
Okay you guys i promised a review of this game and here is my review of Asura's Wrath. First for those who don't know about the story of it here's a quick over view of the story of Asura's Wrath as said on The IGN Website. Now here's my opinion of the game. This game is a Japanese Interactive Anime Series that can be played on the 360 or PS3, I'm not kidding when I say that because there are 18+ Episodes in which you play through and they treat it like an Anime series because after you finish an episode they give a preview of the next "episode" that you have to play through and then there are DLC episodes included. This game is made by the team of Capcom and Cyber Connect 2 so if you are a fan of either or both companies than you know this game should be good and it actually is a fun, over the top, funny, and addicting adventure/fighting/rail shooter Game. The Gameplay and feel is that of a Dragonball Z Style type game in which there are moments in the game where Asura just Screams and powers up like Gohan when he was fighting Cell or Goku when he was fighting Frieza. In this game Asura has two bars, one of them is his health bar and the other one is his Burst Bar in which when you fill that by fighting, and when the burst bar gets full, Asura goes into Berserker Mode. Also there are cinematic scenes that prompt the player to press a button to raise Asura's Burst Bar. The Story within Asura's Wrath is like that of God of War and what I mean by that is that Asura is betrayed by his fellow Gods, his wife is murdered, his daughter is kidnapped and Asura himself is banished and sent to Hell but he get's out and goes on to Kick some Deity Ass. The Graphics on this game is marvelous, gorgeous, and kind of reminds me of Street Fighter IV.
Dislikes:
Some of the things i do not like about this game is that there is no change in difficulty when facing Boss's. It doesn't matter whether you are playing on Easy or Hard there are going to be moments where a vein or two will be popping out of your forehead because of Anger with the indifference between difficulties. Another Thing i do not like is the fact that this game in a way becomes repetitive in gameplay and there are moments where i felt like i was going through the motions with the game. Dislike Number 3 is that there are certain moments of the game where because of certain fights, Asura Loses his arms and then in the next episode he has regained his arms. Where did he get new arms? Who gave him new arms? Dislike Number 4 is that there is no Customization with this game. I for one believe that there should be customization for games such as this
And Now for the Review of the DLC:
This DLC is Crazy, and full of Dragon Punches, Hadukens, Hurricane Kicks, and it is full of Wrath and Rage. If you don't get those clues let me just come out with it. YOU FIGHT RYU/ EVIL RYU AND THEN YOU FIGHT AKUMA/ONI ON THE MOON!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you didn't have any reason to get this game get it for that reason. The first time you fight Ryu and Akuma it is in the style of Super Street Fighter IV and then the second fight is in the style of Asura's Wrath. Then when both Ryu and Akuma transform into their second forms ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE!!!!!!!!!!!
Overall:
Over all I enjoy this game, it is a short game as i beat it in two days (that's including the DLC just as well), it was repetitive at moments but i still enjoyed it very much but the replay value of this game is very low. I bought it at Gamestop for 35 Bucks used and it's 40 Bucks brand new so i would say if you have Gamefly then go get this game. Even though i bought it, if i had gamefly i would prefer to rent it but i give this game a 8.5 out of 10 and I give it a Rent It Rating just as well
